Actually, yeah, that leads me pretty well onto how you are protected. Fat Llama arranges insurance through, I think it’s Hiscox and maybe some other ones. And technically, the whole business model is that you’re insured on these items. I guess the biggest potential con is actually, I guess you could lose your equipment or it could get damaged. Or when they have been slightly broken, like little switches and things like that and missing. And I’ve had a few of the Items come back that have had scratches on them. They’re always pretty nice, but they can basically either be unreliable, a bit late or have bad communication. But, 10% of the people can ruin the experience. So like in life, it’s 90% of the people are really good, friendly and nice. The first one is actually the people sometimes. The majority of the stuff is actually done through the app. You just have to arrange pickup and delivery and it’s up to you to arrange all that. It’ll give you the dates of when that rental is going to be how much money you’re gonna make, and you can either accept it or decline it. The app I’ll get into that later is not perfect, but it’s essentially, it’ll give you a little message asking for if you want to rent it or not. I essentially worked from home, so all I need to really arrange is meeting up with the person, picking up and dropping it off. Obviously I’m not doing this stuff for free… Over the last couple of years, I think I started in basically July 2018. I mostly rent out my video equipment because I feel slightly less comfortable, basically renting out my DJ gear, knowing that it’s probably going to go to a load of drunk people at a party. Basically the more, the items worth the higher amount you can charge, but also obviously the risk to your property goes up. So I’ve got a GH5 and I package with the lenses – that does the best, I think. I don’t want to show all the gear I’ve got in case someone finds out where I live in size to Rob me… The gear, which is most popular for me to rent out is stuff like lenses and camera kits. So as you can imagine, I’ve got a fair bit of gear lying around. So for borrowers, it’s cheaper than your regular rental shop and it can be a great source of income for lenders.įor me, I’m a videographer and DJ. So what is Fat Llama? Fat Llama is… It’s like Airbnb for items and gear. I’m into audio and video production and DJing, and I make content or around that. I’m also going to go through my experiences on the platform. I’m going to be showing you how much money I’ve made in that amount of time. I doont even want to hear your explanation, because there is nothing to explain here.So I’ve been on fat Lama for about two years now. Can you believe the absurdity of the situation?" Its over me to be honest, strange people asking you for wedding invitation., maybe I should take one of you? This is over ridiculous. I needed to rent a camera for a wedding, and to my surprise, the rental company called me and requested that I send them an invitation to the wedding I was attending. They now hold my card details, bank statement, and a treasure trove of personal information. I question the very legality of this entire charade! And mark my words, I shall expose them as the potential scam artists they are. "We understand that the verification process can be a bit intense and really appreciate your cooperation." How dare they claim understanding when they are the architects of this absurd nightmare? They shall face the consequences, for I have reported them to the watchful eyes of the authorities and the mighty ombudsman. Simply marvelous, isn't it? Oh, but they have a message for you, wrapped in their patronizing tone. A reality where your pleas fall on deaf ears and your troubles remain unresolved. Yes, my friend, that's the reality you are faced with. But wait, it gets even better! Imagine a world where there is no contact number, no customer service to turn to when disaster strikes or when you need the slightest glimmer of hope. They surely hope this will deter you from seeking any assistance. And guess what? You can't even call them back! Oh no, their number is strictly one-way communication, leaving you stranded and voiceless. And as if that weren't enough, they will haunt you with bizarre phone calls, bombarding you with questions that would make even the most seasoned interrogator flinch. Why, you ask? Well, get ready to surrender your sanity as they demand statements, ID scans, and card details, but that's not all! They even have the audacity to invade your social media kingdom, demanding access to your precious Instagram and Facebook accounts. Brace yourself for a series of mind-numbing verifications that seem utterly pointless. !!!! BE AVARE BE AVARE BE AVARE BE AVARE !!!! "Prepare yourself for an infuriating journey if you dare to rent something more valuable than a mere pen drive.
